the fashion gods have smiled on us

OMGS! straight from the source himself, david cho, i have just learned that there may be a TOP SHOP opening in new york city next spring! for those of you who are not familiar with top shop, it is the h&m of london, but BETTER. it's cheap, fashionable, and full of fun pieces that are continuously changing.

from the ny times:
"Philip Green, whose company, the Arcadia Group, owns Topshop along with several other British retailers, was in New York in late April to scout a site for a New York flagship. The store could open as early as next spring...The proposed New York store would be 60,000 to 90,000 square feet, Mr. Green told reporters in April, a fashion outpost on a scale unmatched in any American city by any specialty clothing store."

UNMATCHED IN ANY AMERICAN CITY BY ANY SPECIALTY CLOTHING STORE. i really can't begin to tell you how excited i am that this might happen. i should start saving money now because i can already tell you that i'm going to spend a TON of money at this store. as a matter of fact, when i studied abroad in london i must have spent a clean 2,000 pounds there. GET IT? there are 2,000 pounds in a ton? just a little british/metric humor for ya.
