oh facebook
after reading my friend streeter's hilarious post about the new 'details' feature of facebook, i decided to sign on for the first time in a while to examine all the changes my beloved procrastination tool was undergoing. in my exploration, i came upon 'the pulse,' a feature i'd never seen before, that mathematically tracks the trends and interests of your school's facebook populus. for instance, music:

amazingly, facebook compiled a list of 10 bands that basically sums up southern, preppy wake forest perfectly. however, how the hell is the postal service #9? who was listening to the postal service and why wasn't i friends with them? i'm impressed, wake forest facebookers. i'm impressed.
another great part of 'the pulse' is a sidebar of random student body percentages. for example, 36% of wake forest enjoys 'anchorman.' or 3% of wake forest students are in LEAD. or

wait a minute, what was that last one? excuse me facebook, i don't think so. i've been to frat parties and there is no way that percentage is even CLOSE. try adding a couple of zeros after the one there. but the best percentage of all was this:

which somehow, in less than 5 words, manages to capture perfectly the problem behind almost a quarter of the male wake forest population. ZING!
